Old world charm meets new school functionality in these unique planters: the stately beauty and durability of aged stone pottery at a fraction of the weight — plus better weather resistance and a helpful self-watering reservoir. The secret? (Warning: you may erupt into applause when you hear it.) LavaStone planters are made with volcanic ash from an eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines! Mixed with bonding resins, this utterly unique material creates a strong but lightweight compound that is molded over a fiberglass frame. The resulting planters look remarkably like stone, but weigh significantly less. An elegant embellishment for your deck or patio, driveway or pool side, LavaStone planters add old world romance to your yard and garden, but won’t require modern machinery to move should you find a more appealing spot to show them off. With the addition of our innovative Self-Watering Insert, the convenience of this planter shoots up into the stratosphere, providing up to 1.25 gallons of water to keep plants happy and hydrated in two ways: wicking and evaporation. The insert has a water level indicator and an easy-fill tube to take the guesswork out of when to add water.
